It takes a community to raise a business (and a good crop of yams). Jeffrey Betcher has been working with apparel industry pros, social trend advisers, and women who love pajamas to create the best sleepwear a woman can buy and a planet can support.
Jeffrey has woven into YamStreet the values he expresses both as a community organizer and a businessperson. He is the President of peopleWear SF, a trade association for the local fashion and apparel industry that is reinvigorating the industry by renewing the focus on local production, applied technology and community values.
Jeffrey lives and works in San Francisco's Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood. He has public and institutional policy experience at the national level, and now advocates for strengthening local systems and prioritizing community-building as a primary social change strategy. Jeffrey co-founded and leads an award-winning community-building organization called the Quesada Gardens Initiative.
YamStreet is a new business that makes pajamas. Pajamas for women. Pajamas that feature curvaceous, lush and vibrantly-colored yams. Pajamas that are hand-crafted to the highest standard of quality. Pajamas made locally, sustainably, and with more heart than you'll find in all those big Wall Street companies combined. Pajamas we call "PaYamas."
